Dec 22 : The Karnataka branch of Indian Medical Association(IMA) has urged government of Karnataka to rethink about the remodify the Yeshaswini Scheme which has been re-launched recently. IMA has also urged the government to take the association in confidence before implementing the scheme stating that there are many flaws in the scheme which is relaunched.
After the grievances were discussed with Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai Wednesday morning a memorandum was also submitted to Cooperative Minister S T Somashekhar at the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha.
While welcoming the relaunch, IMA has stated that the hospitals who are the service providers are being left out in the process of planning and formulating the implementation of the scheme. “Together we could have overcome the previous shortcomings in the scheme and also formulated better functioning of the same for the beneficiaries,” Dr Shivakumar B Lakkol said speaking to media persons.
The IMA has alleged that the last package rates were fixed in year 2010 and continued till 2018. The present package rates released are 30 to 50% lesser compared to 2010 rates and are hence unscientific and no private hospital can do justice to beneficiaries in this package rates.
