BM Bureau, April 23 : Condemning the brutal murder of a management student Neha Hiremath the Congress party bearers and party workers on Tuesday staged massive protests in Belagavi city . The party workers who carried a protest rally from Sangolli Rayanna circle to DC office premises, raised slogans demanding capital punishment to Neha’s killer Fayaz. The agitators later submitted a memorandum to the government through district administration.
A demonstration of hanging Fayaz to death was also shown during the protest rally. “ Neha’s Brutal murder has put Karnataka to shame. Centre should bring new laws for the protection of women so that such incidents will not repeat, “ the protesters demanded.
Speaking on this occasion, Member of legislative council Chennaraj Hattiholi said “ We are deeply hurt about the brutal murder of Neha. Safety of the women in society has become matter of deep concern. We should not politicize this sensitive matter. The government should take strict action in this matter. The deceased girl must get justice, “ Hattiholi urged.
Belagavi North MLA Asif Sait said ‘The murder of college student Neha is very unfortunate. The accused Fayaz must be punished. Aggrieved by the incident the Muslim community has already condemned this incident and has asked the government to take stringent legal action against the guilty in this matter. We are with the family of the deceased girl,” Sait said.
