City of Belagavi is unique. Strategically located at Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa border, this is arguably the only city across the globe nurturing harmony amongst languages, cultures, religions and traditions. A true symbol of ‘Unity in Diversity’.
It was not long ago the city was marred by issues based on language and culture. However, harmony prevailed and hopes revived as the ‘green city’ is tipped off to become the Smart City.
In journalism Belagavi has made steady advances as the daily news papers, magazines in all the vernacular languages have made impact. Working as the fourth estate of democracy, every daily or a periodical carries colossal responsibility of making the democracy work for the people.
However, there was a yearning to showcase the aspirations of the citizens in the form of a English local magazine read and responded by all the culture and community of people. We plan to mount ‘Belgaum Mirror’ on the democratic wall of the city so that the desires, aspirations, expectations, ambitions and images are reflected unmodified.
