BM Bureau, June 8 : Principal of JN Medical College and noted ENT specialist Dr N S Mahantshetty has urged parents not to ignore the allergy in children, as it can be fatal. She also urged parents to get an effective treatment preventing the allergy as curing allergy has become a challenge. She was speaking after inaugurating the advance medical workshop on “Integrated Approach to the Management of Allergic Rhinitis” organized Monday. The workshop was jointly organised by KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research (KAHER) and ENT Department of KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore
“ Allergy is a long-term disease and despite the availability of research and new drugs, it is a challenge to cure it. Therefore, not only allopathy but also alternative medicines like Ayurveda and Homeopathy are also advisable. However, there are various medicines available in allopathy which should be used properly to take care of the patient,” Dr Mahantshetty said.
Medical Director of the Hospital Dr (Col) M Dayanand said that many diseases are occurring in recent days and all of them cannot be treated with allopathy. So alternative ways are necessary. “ Research should be undertaken to provide effective treatment for chronic diseases as there is enough money for research which should be used in the right way to keep the society healthy,” Dr Dayanand said.
Head of ENT Department Dr Rajendra Metagudmath , Dr N D Zingade, Dr Mukunda Udachanakar and Dr Savita Angadi also spoke.
