To avoid alleged fleecing of commuters by pvt bus operators, citizens council demands holiday special trains during Dasara-Diwali festivals

BM Bureau, Oct 11 : While the private bus operators are reportedly seen fleecing commuters who visit their home towns during Dasara and Diwali, in order to safeguard the interests of commuters, on Sunday members of the Citizens Council met K L Prabhakar Rao, Chief TI(o) SWR, Hubli during his visit to Belagavi Railway Station and submitted the memorandum to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and the GM SWR Hubli for Holiday Spl trains during Dasara and Diwali.

The meeting commenced with a two-minute silence as a tribute to the departed soul of Suresh Angadiji, MOS for Railways.

The delegates also demanded for increase in number of three tier and AC bogies for the LTT Express between Hubli and Mumbai to initiate the Clone Spl train on Bangalore and Mumbai route.

Appreciating the initiative by Citizens Council, Rao assured the council that he will use his good office to resolve the issue.

The council has suggested for running of special trains between Yeshvantpur to Belagavi and Pune to Hubli and back on October 23rd & 25th and during Diwali festival between 12th to 16th  November on the same routes.

Council president Satish Tendulkar, Station Master S Girish , Shevantilal Shah, Arun Kulkarni were present.
