Heartless hearse van driver fleecing patients-relatives, Sri Ram Sena comes to rescue

BM Bureau, March 28 : While death cases keep mounting in Belagavi district as heart rending scenes are being witnessed everywhere, heartless service providers continue fleecing the meek and helpless relatives of the Covid victims and patients dying of other ailments. Thanks to a the members of associations and NGOs whose act of compassion towards the fellow human beings is coming as some solace to the families in distress

In an incident on Friday morning a Hearse Van driver was trying to fleece the helpless relatives of a poor man from Watare near Londa who lost his battle to brief illness at the District Hospital here. Kaitan Francis Fernandes (50) died of brief illness early morning. Taking advantage of the bewildered wife of the deceased and his nephew, a Hearse Van owner whose name the relatives was Harun reportedly demanded Rs 15,000 for carrying the body to Watare and took Rs 3000 in advance to allegedly prepare some papers.

Sir Ram Sena Hindusthan chief Ramakant Konduskar was contacted by members of the community. To the great relief of the family Mr Konduskar immediately rushed to the spot and asked the rude driver to return the money. After which a hearse van belonging to Sri Ram Sena took the body of the deceased to Watare and the activists in presence of villagers conducted the funeral.

The Christians in Khanapur taluka have expressed gratitude to the selfless services rendered by Sri Ram Sena Hindusthan and its chief Ramakant Konduskar.

However, the unruly and rude private service providers in the District Hospital campus need to be dealt with strongly.

Are the authorities listening??
