Eight passengers found lying unconscious in Delhi bound Goa Express on Monday

BM Bureau, Sept 12 : Eight passengers were found lying unconscious in the Delhi bound Vasco Hazrat Nizamuddin Goa Express on Monday evening. All the eight who are working in Goa were heading to Khandwa, MP. All eight were admitted to a hospital in Belagavi. While seven have recovered, condition of one is said to be serious. Railway police are investigating the case.

According to sources, these passengers boarded the train at Vasco and were later found lying unconscious by co passengers at Londa. After the train reached Belagavi yesterday evening all 8 were rushed to District Hospital here. Police are investigating whether it was poisoning through chocolate or due to an overdose of ganja.

Giving details about the incident SWR authorities said that on 11.09.23 train escorting staff of Train No. 12779 Goa Express noticed some passengers in sleeping condition and not responding in the rear general coach.

RPF from Belagavi Post with Railway Doctor checked on them. One of the passengers revealed that 03 persons age about 25-30 yrs talked in a friendly way and offered them chocolate and kurkure and might have got down at Sanvordem railway station. RPF is investigating the matter. It is suspected that the food might have been laced with sedatives.
