Durga Mata Doud commences amid Covid-19 guidelines. Seven persons allowed

BM Bureau, Oct 17 : Traditionally acclaimed “ Durgamata Doud “  the 23 year old historic traditional run got underway on Saturday morning, heralding the arrival of Dasara festival. Every year large number of youth and seniors take part in the 9 day run; however was restricted to only 7 persons due to Covid-19 restrictions, Patriotic zeal prevailed amid traditional fervor as the participants under the leadership of Shivapratishthan district president Kiran Gawde.

The 1st day run started from the Shivaji Garden, Shahapur and went across Kapileshwar Road culminating at Kapileshwar Mandir passing through lanes in the locality.

“ Every day the doud will commence at around 5.30 am and will go as per the schedule that has been circulated among the enthusiasts and volunteers. On Sunday it will start at Shri Ganesh Mandir near Chenamma Circle and go via RTO Circle to Durga Mata Temple inside the Fort campus. Almost all the important roads and areas in the city would be covered during the 9 day run, Gawde ascertained.
