BM Bureau, Oct 7: Chief Minister BS Yeddiyurappa has instructed officials to take stringent measures to control Kovid-1 infection and mortality in the district. At a meeting of senior officials that was held at the Circuit House on Wednesday the CM also directed that the authorities should comply with the guidelines and implement the same.
He also said that wearing of the mask should be mandatory. “ Those who violate the law should be penalized while measures should be also initiated to maintain social distancing,” he directed.
He also directed that the new guidelines set by the central government in the coming days should be taken as a precautionary measure as more activities are to begin in coming days.
Deputy Commissioner M G Hiremath, briefed about the situation in the district stating that stating that the cases in the district are gradually declining. Home Minister Basavaraja Bommai, District Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, were also present.
Belgaum North Zone IGP Raghavendra Suhas, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Darshan HV, SP Laxman Nimbargi, ADC Ashok Dudagunti, Distrcit Health Officer Dr Munyal, and other officials were present.
CM Yediyurappa left for Bengaluru after the meeting at 12 noon.
