Religious ceremonies prohibited, public events restricted- DC Dr Harish Kumar issues new guidelines

BM Bureau, April 17 : The state government has announced a new guideline to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection. Strict action will be taken to enforce the guidelines in the district, Deputy Commissioner Dr  K Harish Kumar said.

As per the directive of the Union Ministry of Planning, Government of India, the Guidelines have been issued to limit the number of people who may be involved in a public event, celebration, entertainment and other events to prevent the spread of Kovid-19

 Covid Control measures:

  1. Open weddings should be limited to 200 people and 100 people for weddings in the Welfare Hall, Hall, Hall and any other area.
  2. Birthday and other celebrations only 50 people are allowed in the open area and 25 people in the hall and other closed areas.
  3. 50 in open area and 25 in closed area at death / funeral.
  4. Other events should not exceed 50 people, depending on the area of ​​the hall.  According to the new guidelines, 200 people should be treated at a political gathering.

Religious Ceremony Prohibition:

“Religious practices and ceremonies have been banned due to the widespread spread of Covid-19 infection,” District Collector Dr K Harish Kumar said.

In the following cases, the standard procedure laid down by the concerned departments of the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka must be followed by all.  Sanitization measures must be undertaken by those in charge of the auditorium and other areas.

Strict action if the guidelines are not followed:  

  1. The respective guidelines have been assigned to the Deputy Sub-Divisional Officers and District Urban Development Cell Planning Directors for strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the Government.
  2. The responsibility for the implementation of the guidelines is headed by the respective Taluk Tahsildars and the Executive Officers of the Taluk Panchayat and the respective Local Authorities within the jurisdiction of the respective Urban Councils.
  3. If any laxity is observed in the implementation of the guidelines, the concerned officials will be held responsible,

Deputy Commissioner Dr K Harish Kumar has warned that action will be taken against those who fail to comply with the  Covid19 Control Guidelines under Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and the Indian Penal Code and other applicable legal provisions.
