BelgaumMirror is a place where you can share news related to Belgaum and get paid for when others view it. Belgaum Mirror is an news aggregation portal exclusively for Belgaum. Belgaum Mirror is aimed to Reflect Belgaum World Wide.
The foundation of BelgaumMirror is based upon the submission of news by the users. So we share a part of our revenue generated through advertisements on site. We give away from 50% upto 100% revenue on one of the ad banner on the site and contribute back to the community. Here are a few frequently asked question on our revenue sharing model :
- How does this work?
What we have done is setup a system so the ad revenue can be shared between all active members of this site. The top 480*60 banner (Placed on top portion, below the top menu) ad revenue will be shared with the user. We use Google AdSense to automatically serve relevant ads for the content on the page. Google pays AdSense publishers on a per click basis as well as per impression.
If a user has an AdSense account, they have the ability to credit their account with the ads served on threads they start or participate in.
Initially a new user will get an revenue share of 50% by default. depending on the quality of news submitted by the user the revenue share will be increased appropraitely upto 100% by the administrator. The increment in the revenue share is soley upto the administrator.
- Why are you doing this?
A site is nothing without the users. So I figure why not let the users make a little money on the content they submit to BelgaumMirror
- What are the restrictions?
You must have an AdSense account through Google.
- How do I set it up?
You need to specify your adsense publisher ID in the profile (this starts with pub- and is within the HTML Google generates for you in your account). Here is how you can do it:
- Login with your username and password (Should be registered first)
- Goto "Profile" option on the top menu.
- Goto "Modify" option available under the "personal info" section on the left hand side.
- Enter your "Google Adsense ID" and "Adsense channel" (optional) in therespective fields.
- "Save" and thats it !
- How long will you be doing this?
There are no plans to stop it at any point.
But we do retain the right to halt the program or make adjustments to it as necessary if it's not working out in it's current form for whatever reason.
- I look at the HTML source on posts I've made and I never see my AdSense Client ID.
The system will never display your own AdSense Client ID to you (as long as you are logged in).
This is to prevent people from unknowingly violating the Adsense terms and conditions (specifically the part about clicking your own ads).
